After second guessing the effectiveness of the laser bore sight, (See why at the end of the video) I tried .440 diameter balls in my .45 cal T/C Hawken using pillow ticking (.019) and plain cotton cloth (.01) with dismal results. After nearly getting several balls and patches stuck, and a cleaning jag on a range rod, I needed to try something drastic. That's when I happened upon some .44 (.433 diameter) balls with the .01 patches. The accuracy was surprising and validated the laser bore sight. This may be the answer to resurrect this once neglected but sentimental (if not historically accurate) gun from my youth.
