Joseph C. was diagnosed with myelofibrosis, a rare blood cancer, after returning from vacation feeling fatigued. He intitally thought it was just his age. He then learned his hemoglobin levels were dangerously low. After an initial scare and hospitalization, Joseph learned about a clinical trial at Mount Sinai Hospital that didn't require a risky bone marrow transplant.
Despite initial challenges, Joseph’s health started to improve. His hemoglobin levels stabilized and he became a success story for the trial. Pacritinib, later known as VONJO, received FDA approval.
