Dwarka is an ancient and sacred city, known as the legendary kingdom of Lord Krishna, yet there’s so much about the city that is yet to be discovered. It is not just a spiritual destination but a unique blend of history, mythology, and maritime mysteries. As one of the Seven Saptapuri pilgrimage, and one of the Char Dham, the city is also home to the revered Dwarka Sharada Peeth.
This is my last of the seven part Saptapuri series and I can say one of the closest to my heart as well. I truly committed myself to each of these seven cities and did my best to capture the soul of each place, but with Dwarka the city touched my soul as well. I felt so calm and relaxed there, and spent many days in the city, and eventually left because of another project. But I do feel a deep calling and I’m sure I’ll be back again, because there’s more that I want to explore there. Maybe this film is just the start…

I spent a week together in the Dwarka and Beyt Dwarka and still felt it wasn’t sufficient. The film on Dwarka Nagri takes a detailed look at the history of the city which seems to be the oldest among the Saptapuris as per the current archeological records. This is the first travel film where I delved deep into the history of the place, including underwater archeological findings. A new underwater excavation has just been taken up in Dwarka after a break of a few years and we’ll certainly have new insights about the city and its history.
Hope you enjoy the video!
