I spent four grueling years trying to false cord growl. I tried every youtube tutorial but they all led me down different paths. I also spoke to many teachers that couldn't fully help me. I was discouraged so much that I wanted to give up.
Fast forward to today, I've been able to take the stage as a vocalist and express myself in this primitive way and let out all my emotions in a way I only dreamed of when I was younger. I've even had people come up to me and say that they found my vocals to be "amazing."
In this video, I take you on my journey and share the lessons I learned which finally helped me unlock my scream. I also try and see whether it's possible to teach my girlfriend Yanni how to false cord scream in one day!
