Nile gets to spend a week with the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat and reevaluates his position on this electric pickup truck. Find out why he was wrong about it when he drove it last year. He felt while the F-150 Lightning was a very capable pickup truck, it wasn't that good of an electric vehicle. In fact he compared the experience to his own 2018 Ford Focus Electric, a compliance car launched by the blue oval over a decade ago to meet emissions regulations. Nile felt the F-150 Lightning lacked important EV information like charge time and ETA, a brake mode, heat pump, and adjustable regen braking levels. Luckily some of those features have been included on the 2024 models. Nile goes over the technical changes from the previous model year along with the pricing differences, as the F-150 Lightning launched as a 2024 with a lower price than the 2023s, and then received a price reduction halfway through the year. He also discusses the energy efficiency results he achieved and how they compared to the 2023 he drove in slightly warmer fall-like weather. He then hits the road on his Test Drive to discuss his overall thoughts on how the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning drives, rides, and handles, along with the overall experience of this full-size electric pickup truck. He also talks about the new FLASH trim, positioned between the XLT and Lariat, and how that would likely be the model he'd go with.
