Fractures due to injury (traumatic fractures) are coded to chapter 19. Fractures due to disease (such as osteoporosis and neoplasms) are coded to chapter 13.

Open or closed fractures, and malunion and nonunion coding is discussed.
Types of fractures (torus, greenstick, physeal, vertebral, stress fractures and other types) are discussed.

It discusses the difference between these types of fractures, guidelines and coding for each. This presentation is based on the book ICD-10-CM Coding Guidelines Made Easy.
