Idaho Mint Harvest | Chopping & Processing Mint Oil
In this video I visit McGellip Sod Farm near Nampa Idaho and they harvest mint hay. In the video they are chopping mint that was mowed and swathed into windrows, After the windrows dry some they then come in and chop the mint hay and blow it into wagon trailers referred to as tubs. When the tubs are full they are hauled back to the farm and the mint oil is steamed out of the tubs and processed.
In the video you will see the farms John Deere 7510 tractor pulling a New Holland FP240 forage harvester chopping the mint and blowing it into the tub trailers. After this the video goes back to the farm and shows the process.
