Is there a way to silence the mind when intrusive thoughts make it difficult to remain in touch with being? What can we do to achieve freedom from thoughts that distract us?
Rupert says ‘You don’t have to do anything apart from see that you are always essentially being and that you are already free of your thoughts. Being is what you are – it’s not something that you are sometimes in and sometimes not. You’re not always thinking. But you are always being.
‘So, stop having a project to stop your thoughts – it’s just causing you distress. If you leave your thoughts alone, they will leave you alone. The more of an agenda you have with them, the more they’ll fight back. Just leave your thoughts alone and let them be.’
