Welcome to I’ll Knit (& Spin!) If I want To! I asked y’all to send in some of your questions (from everything from fiber arts, to designing and on!) so I could put together a little video for y’all every Friday doing my best to answer your questions!

In this week’s episode we cover:
1. I'm a sock knitter now! I started with your Everyday Socks and the pattern has been great. I made size medium and size large. My next pair I'd like to knit a medium foot and then a large leg... Do you have a recommendation. for how to adapt the pattern to add some increases after the hee
2. I’m COLD! I live in Virginia and it is not supposed to get this cold! So I want to knit a nice warm, thick shawl to keep me warm. Something I can cozy up in when I’m knitting or reading or just roaming around the house to keep me warm. What patterns and yarn would you recommend?

3. Hi Andrea!! I love your brioche patterns, would you consider designing a cowl that’s worsted or even dk as opposed to bulky for the plumped up cowl? I would love to make it but use a lighter yarn. Thanks!
4. I am in the midst of a love affair with i-cords!! I first discovered I-cord edging and bind-offs on your Satellite shawl, which uses a lovely two-color i-cord, and now I have used them on many different patterns and am obsessed with the beautiful tidy edge it makes! I have a few questions: first, why do most patterns have us twist the last stitch in an i-cord bind-off (k2tog tbl)? What does this do for the edge and why isn’t it just a k2tog? Second, is there a sweet spot for i-cord width? I usually see 3 stitches but have also used 4; can you go smaller or bigger? And last, what else can I put an i-cord on?? I’ve used it on the edges of shawls and scarves but I want to spread the i-cord joy around!

5. Do you ever get a design all the way to test knitting and then have to go back and redo or make heavy modifications? I'm so curious about the design process. You mentioned recently, it's very slow. I'm always impressed by your ability to have a steady release of fun to knit designs!
