Illustrator and Concept Artist Laurel Austin gives a special presentation at Gnomon's "Animal" event, filmed Sunday, May 3rd, 2015.
Austin, who excels at prehistoric mammal concepts explains how to use animal references in creature design to get novel, and cool effects. She walks us through her creature assignment, “Death’s Pale Horse – Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse”. At the time of filming she was working on illustration and concept deigns at Blizzard Entertainment.
Austin’s presentation coincided with the Gnomon and Art Explorers “Animal” event to raise awareness for an ever important cause; collecting donations in support of conservation efforts of California Wildlife Center.
