In this video, Abdul Rahman from TAP joins me to present Imam Bukhari's position regarding hawadath (events with a beginning) and whether or not he attributes them to Allah. The mutakallimun famously claim that anything that has hawadath within it must be a body and that body must be created. Therefore, they reject this for Allah. This means they do not believe that Allah actually acts in succession or creates one thing and then creates something else. This causes them to make taweel on so many verses in the Qur'an and ahadith. They consider the position that Imam Bukhari held and what us Atharis affirm to be kufr. It is one of the biggest differences between our creed and theirs. May Allah make this video benefit the ummah.
