Imam Mehdi, also known as the Mahdi, is a central figure in Shia Islamic eschatology, believed to be the twelfth and final Imam, who will reappear at the end of time to bring justice, peace, and prosperity to the world. According to Shia tradition, Imam Mehdi was born in 869 CE and was the son of Imam Hasan al-Askari, the eleventh Imam. He is believed to have gone into occultation, or hiding, at a young age, and has remained in this state for over 1,000 years, awaiting the time when he will be called upon to return and fulfill his divine mission. Shia Muslims believe that Imam Mehdi's reappearance will mark the beginning of a new era of peace, justice, and righteousness, and that he will lead the world against tyranny, oppression, and evil. He is expected to appear in a time of great turmoil and chaos, when the world is plagued by corruption, injustice, and conflict, and will bring about a revolution that will transform the world and establish a new order based on justice, equality, and compassion. Imam Mehdi's reappearance is seen as a sign of the approaching end of time, and is believed to be preceded by a series of events and signs, including the appearance of a figure known as the Dajjal, or anti-Christ, who will seek to lead humanity astray and oppose the Imam's mission. Shia Muslims believe that Imam Mehdi's return will be a time of great joy and celebration, and that he will bring about a golden age of peace, prosperity, and spiritual enlightenment, in which humanity will be guided by the principles of justice, compassion, and righteousness.
