アンモナイトとオウムガイは
似ていますが、全く違う分類群です。
共通点があるとすれば、頭足類に属するという点と
古生代から登場して
中生代まで一緒に海を泳いだということです。
しかし、白亜紀末、大絶滅当時
あれほど多かったアンモナイトは全て絶滅し
オウムガイは生き残り
今でも命脈をつないでいます。
一体なぜアンモナイトだけが絶滅して
オウムガイは生き残ったのでしょうか？
