In & Out the Hospital Due to a Complicated Pregnancy? Here’s What to Pack!

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Between monitoring, treatment, and preventative procedures, I was in and out of the hospital multiple times during my first pregnancy, not including giving birth.

When we found out at 25 weeks that this pregnancy would also be complicated, require multiple hospital admissions, and may not result in a successful delivery, I was determined to make the experience impactful for others. Knowing there was no telling if we’d have the outcome we wanted, my goal then shifted to someone else getting something positive out of our potential heartbreak.

Here’s one part of that — a peak at my morning routine as a hospital patient. I hope it inspires you to treat yourself well, even when you’re going through hell. But most importantly, that it gives other expectant moms who are in and out of the hospital the permission to go the extra mile to combat the objectification, alienation, stress, and crazymakingness associated with these kinds of pregnancies.

My first pregnancy was complicated and did a number on me mentally. I left the hospital AMA to avoid being admitted to the psych ward because of how rapidly my mind was deteriorating. I had seizures, hallucinations, etc.

This go round, I fought HARD for my mind and “little” things like wearing perfume made ALL the difference.

The expectant moms who this is for will understand exactly what I mean.
