The Lake Ontario Salmon Fishing has been nothing short of spectacular this year. Incredible numbers of king salmon ranging in the 10 - 20lb range have been reported by anglers all over the lake. The steelhead and brown trout fishing has also been phenomenal. A massive population of Alewives, mild winters, and successful spawns have all contributed to this world class fishing.
Trolling for Salmon on Lake Ontario can be a challenge, but if there was ever a time to get into it it’s now! Lake Ontario king salmon are as plentiful and as bitey as they’ve ever been.
Meat rigs with deep rig tackle herring strips and Dreamweaver Magnum Spoons fished on downriggers and wire dipsys were top producers this trip.
