Independent Variable N: State Ideology. Depedent Variable D: State Behavior.
Is such a thing as a Science of Politics? I argue no. I think academics try very hard to borrow terms like Independent & Dependent Variables and DO COMPLEX STATISTICAL MODELS that in the end is "turning the simple questions of common sense politics into something hard" to "BE SCIENTIFIC". This hoopla over social science making out as natural science is shown in invalidated silly stupid political polls that FAILED TO PREDICT the raw GLORY OF PRESIDENT TRUMP. I believe there is actually an independent variable of State Ideology driving the dependent variable of State Behavior on the part of the Islamic Republic of Iran in its own dealings and relations with Israel that IS NOT explained or described or predicted by the Traditional "Rational Actor Model" which is a fancy dancy way of trying to turn a "POLITICAL QUESTION" and make it "appear fancy and scientific". Using the same "scientific rhetoric" we ask: Is China driven by the high minded values of Marx and Engels? If you look at actual behavior China is like a country that "PROFESSES CHRISTIANITY" and does the opposite every single day. As such, I don't think "a true communist" would consider China a true communist but fake communist with no actual revolutionary values. A stale deceased form of communism long dead with no real values. Remember: Western Socialists, Social Democrats, Western Marxists "ACTUALLY CARE" about "THE DOWN TRODDEN WORKERS OF THE WORLD".
