Rhea Chakraborty responded to the backlash she received over the death of Sushant Singh Rajput and said, "I kinda like the name chudail. Back in the day, who was a witch? A witch was a woman who did not subscribe to patriarchal society or had her own way or had her own opinion which was against the popular opinion of men and patriarchal societies back then. Maybe I am that person. Maybe I am a chudail, maybe I know how to do black magic."
Rhea Chakraborty said life is moving on for her and she wants to move on and added, "The new me is very different.I have been through a lot. There's a lot of positive learning and there was a lot of pain. Through that pain I have had to go through a journey... I doused myself in therapy because I believe the only way out of trauma is to address what happened...The real difference in the person who I am today and who I was in 2020 and before is that my inner voice is louder. It's the only voice that matters."
Rhea Chakraborty said she met several women inside jail when she was lodged for six weeks who were suffering much more than her but they were still happy. On what she learnt in jail, she said, "You are given a few moments of happiness in life. Snatch them." She added that on the day she was given bail, she did a 'nagin dance' inside the jail for the women.
