'Prachand' to guard Indian border : ഇന്ത്യയുടെ വ്യോമ പോരാട്ട ശേഷി വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള ഒരു സുപ്രധാന നീക്കം. കരസേനയ്ക്കും വ്യോമസേനയ്ക്കുമായി 156 ലൈറ്റ് കോംബാറ്റ് പ്രചന്ദ് ഹെലികോപ്റ്ററുകൾ വാങ്ങുന്നതിനായി പ്രതിരോധ മന്ത്രാലയം ഹിന്ദുസ്ഥാൻ എയറോനോട്ടിക്സ് ലിമിറ്റഡുമായി രണ്ട് മേജർ കരാറുകളിൽ ഒപ്പുവച്ചു. സുരക്ഷാ കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ക്കുള്ള മന്ത്രിസഭാ സമിതിയാണ് 62,000 കോടി രൂപയുടെ ഹെലികോപ്റ്റര്‍ ഇടപാടിന് അന്തിമ അനുമതി നല്‍കിയത്. പാകിസ്താന്‍, ചൈന അതിര്‍ത്തിയില്‍ ഇവയെ വിന്യസിക്കുമെന്നാണ് റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടുകള്‍.
In a significant move to enhance India's air combat capability, the Ministry of Defence has signed two major contracts with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited for the purchase of 156 Light Combat 'Prachand' helicopters for the Army and the Air Force.
