Innovation Failures: Inevitable & Beneficial. Failures We Want & Don’t Want to Occur

Video Not Working? Fix It Now

In this video, I’m talking about different types of innovation failures based on the typology provided by Elena Freisinger and Ian P. McCarthy in their paper “What fails and when? A process view of innovation failure”. I'm discussing 4 innovation failure modes suggested by the authors: - Unsolicited failures - Hazardous failures - Fortuitous failures - Excursive failures Some of these types we want to experience as they provide value to our innovation projects and some of them we want to avoid. I talk about how we can increase chances of certain failures to occur during collaborative innovation projects and how we can reduce risks of failures that don’t bring any value for our innovation activities.
