On a beautiful Thursday morning, I decided to take a trip to Estate Pl which is in between Elmer and Ethel, Missouri along BNSF’s Marceline Subdivision, part of their Southern Transcon between Los Angeles and Chicago. I got there bright and early around 6:30 AM and railfanned the entire morning. I managed to capture several fast trains which are always nice to see. Amtrak and the morning UP also appeared in this video. I have listed the train symbol along with the speeds of each train measured by radar gun. I was also lucky enough to catch NS 8103 (Norfolk & Western Heritage Unit) leading an empty grain train back to NS rails in Chicago. The train traffic this morning consisted of mostly Eastbounds; M2 was closed for most of the day as MoW was working in Elmer. This caused some traffic congestion and speed restrictions but the train action stayed hot. Can’t wait to return to this amazing spot again in the near future.
