It's time for the supercharger! We're tearing down the LS 4.8 in my stepside silverado, and making room for the LSA supercharger. This came on the Cadillac CTS-V as well as the Camaro ZL1 and on the 6.2 engine, it was rated somewhere around 550 to 580 horsepower. I do have a slight disadvantage with only a 4.8 liter LS, but I am excited to see how much power and torque the LSA Supercharger can add to my silverado. Today we're covering the installation of the actual supercharger, which means the old intake has to come off, the accessory drive is removed, and we'll work on the adapter plates so we can line up the rectangle port LSA supercharger with the cathedral port heads on the 4.8. We do need to do a little clearancing for the LS9 fuel rail, but nothing too major.
I did get a few questions on how I modified the blower snout to clear the fuel rail and bypass valve, so I wanted to address that. This is a totally optional step which you don't have to do, and you can elect to either leave the front fuel rail bolt out altogether, or install a spacer to raise the fuel rail up above the bracket and bypass valve.
