Today was a mix of tech upgrades, system adjustments, and troubleshooting—a little bit of everything in the HVAC world!
The day kicked off with installing a WiFi smart oil tank sensor. These sensors are a game-changer, letting homeowners and building managers check oil levels right from their phone instead of running down to the tank. A quick install, a little app setup, and they’re good to go!
Next, we tackled 8 different Tekmar boiler controls, adjusting them because the buildings were way too hot. When multiple units are running too warm, it usually means the settings need fine-tuning to balance comfort and efficiency. After some tweaks, the heating was back under control, and tenants wouldn’t feel like they were living in a sauna anymore.
Finally, the last stop of the day—a no heat call. Right away, we found the boiler breaker was off, which is always a red flag. After checking everything over, the issue turned out to be a bad thermostat, so we swapped it out, powered everything back up, and got the heat running again.
Some jobs are all about installing new tech, some are about fine-tuning systems, and others are just classic troubleshooting. Today had a bit of everything, and that’s what keeps HVAC work interesting!
