*TIMING INDEX BELOW - SKIP AROUND!** Here we have the super powerful, triple channel tanh[3] waveshaper, compressor / limiter, soft clipping distorting saturator from Eurorack. It’s a 4HP Eurorack module that performs and tangential waveshaping function on the input (be it audio or CV). It will shape triangles to sines and ‘almost’ squares, it will add hold and sustain to envelopes, it adds harmonics or softens harmonics like the low end bloom of driving into tape. It’s totally dynamic to input level so simply using a VCA you can add CV control to the channels for a dynamic saturation and limiting of the signals. It’s often banded around as a “secret weapon” in Max MSP and Pure Data circles as there’s a tanh shaper object in those environments. As always I hope the video sparks lots of ideas for the module and your own systems. Any questions just ask, cheers!
