There are two types of sinus lift procedures: the external sinus lift and the internal sinus lift.
The internal sinus lift, involves gaining access to the sinus cavity through a vertical internal opening created in the bone. Bone is added to the floor of the sinus to increase the bone height. The sinus is thus filled to increase the bone to a sufficient thickness that can eventually support an implant.
