Chiara Nicoletti had the pleasure of speaking with Willem Dafoe, one of the stars of NOSFERATU, directed by Robert Eggers, ahead of the film’s international release.
Nosferatu is a gothic horror film written and directed by Robert Eggers, the acclaimed filmmaker behind The Witch (2015), The Lighthouse (2019), and The Northman (2022). The story is based on Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel Dracula and serves as a remake of Friedrich Murnau’s Nosferatu (1922), a silent cinema classic and a masterpiece of German Expressionism.
The cast includes Lily-Rose Depp, alongside Nicolas Hoult and Bill Skarsgård, who portrays the sinister Count Orlok. The ensemble also features Ralph Ineson and Willem Dafoe, both collaborating with Eggers for the third time, as well as Emma Corrin, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Simon McBurney, Paul A. Maynard, and Stacy Thunes.
NOSFERATU:
Set in 1838 in Germany, Nosferatu tells the story of Ellen Hutter (Lily-Rose Depp), a young woman haunted by Count Orlok (Bill Skarsgård), an ancient vampire. As Orlok’s obsession with Ellen grows, it leads to untold horrors, weaving a tale of gothic terror and psychological complexity.

World Premiere: December 2, 2024, in Berlin, Germany
