Intra-muscular connective tissue injuries of the hamstring muscle group: Emerging understanding & implications for early management.
Prof Craig Purdam, Consultant Sports Physiotherapist, Adjunct Professor at La Trobe University and University of Canberra
Learning Objectives:
1. Develop an understanding of current literature relating to structural and functional properties of the intramuscular tendons, with particular focus on the hamstrings.
2. Apply these learnings in formulating early management approaches for hamstring strain injuries involving the intramuscular tendon with greater specificity and appreciation of knowledge gaps.
3. Appreciate the implications of certain radiological findings as they relate to tissue injury and healing.
