This video is a detailed tutorial for beginning sewist and bag makers for how to make a simple and small tote bag from start to finish! The only knowledge you need is basic knowledge on how to use a sewing machine to change stitch lengths and use the reverse function of your machine. I highly recommend using a 90/14 or 100/16 needle for this project.
Required Materials:
- 1/2 yard of a quilting cotton exterior fabric
- 1/2 yard of a quilting cotton lining fabric (preferably a solid color)
- 1 yard of woven interfacing (Pellon SF101 or Wovenfuse2 as used in this video)
- 1 yard of fleece interfacing (1/2 yard if it's 35" wide)
- 1 spool of all purpose thread
- 1 90/14 or 100/16 needle in your sewing machine (this can handle a little more layers)
- scissors or rotary cutter
- tailor's chalk (or a disappearing ink marker)
- straight edge ruler of some sort
- clips or pins!
Wovenfuse2 may be purchased from GotInterfacing.com
