Its Another How-To series and in this one we are going to introduce you to weathering model trains! As real trains age, atmospheric conditions can begin to break down and fade painted surfaces over the course of time from exposure to the sun and rain. Dirt and other particles and build up on a surface and can slowly penetrate and damage a given surface. We can replicate those effects on models with a technique known as weathering. This is a whole new level in model railroading and many people including myself were a little intimidated at first but I decided to jump in and give it a shot and once I began to understand the process.
