Prevention and readiness for invasive mussels (such as zebra and quagga mussels) has never been more important. Justin Bush (Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife) provides a background of invasive mussel biology, impacts, and distribution in the United States. Current readiness, prevention, and outreach efforts are discussed, with a special focus on eastern Washington. Everyone is encouraged to do their part to keep mussels out of Washington.
Stacy Horton (Northwest Power and Conservation Council) concludes the webinar with a segment on the amendment of the council’s Fish and Wildlife Program, the current invasive species language, how participants can submit an amendment.
