Today, I visited Tehran’s Grand Bazaar, a place that always beats like the heart of trade and movement, but today, its energy was on another level. The end-of-year sales had drawn people from every corner, and from the moment I stepped into the metro, the crowd made itself known—there was barely any space to breathe! People stood shoulder to shoulder, rushing toward the bazaar as if they were part of an endless race.
When I arrived, it felt like a sea of people in motion. The crowd was so dense that even taking a step was a challenge. Curious eyes scanned the goods, the sound of bargaining filled the air, and shopkeepers loudly announced their discounts—turning the market into a lively and chaotic scene.
But what stood out was that people weren’t just shopping; they were observing. Prices were checked, hesitation was in the air. The rising dollar exchange rate had made its impact; some were searching for an affordable purchase, but many were just looking, discussing the soaring prices rather than buying. Still, the market was more crowded than ever, beating with the pulse of the year's final days.
Maybe this was the last hope for finding cheap deals, or maybe just an annual ritual. But one thing was certain: the bazaar remained full of life, noise, excitement, and eyes searching for a better opportunity.
