Playa Del Carmen is the crown jewel of the Riviera Maya in Mexico, drawing many different styles of tourists from both Mexico and from around the world for its beautiful beaches, accessibility to Cancun Airport, access to cruise ship docks in both Playa and Cozumel, short drive to Tulum, modern infrastructure, endless numbers of hotels and airbnbs and hostels in all price levels, laid back friendly atmosphere, great day trips for diving, amusement parks, cenotes, Mayan Ruins, and the list really goes on and on. Playa Del Carmen has it all as far as a tourist destination. 5th Avenue in Playa Del Carmen is definitely ground zero for tourism and everything tourist related. 5th Avenue is a pedestrian only boulevard that spans dozens and dozens of blocks filled with businesses and restaurants catering to tourists and tourist infrastructure.
In this video, I take a long walk down Playa Del Carmen’s world famous 5th Avenue so that you can experience the magic and the chaos all for yourself. I begin at the quieter end of 5th Avenue and walk for many blocks as it gets busier and busier close to Avenida Benito Juarez, the ADO tourist bus station, Parque de Fundadores and the Paseo de Carmen shopping mall.
