So you've probably seen videos of people crashing cars on BeamNG, but have you ever wondered how realistic Beam actually is? This video looks to answer that question by comparing Beam to another popular racing sim called Assetto Corsa. The comparison is broken down into a few different categories, including the following:
- Realistic damage
- Racing and drifting game modes
- Realism of cars, tracks, and tuning capabilities
- Realism of physics and handling
What makes me qualified to have an opinion? We'll, I've been doing sim racing in one form or another for over a decade, seeing improvement in real life lap times for autocross and track days. Over the last few years, I used Assetto Corsa to learn how to drift, and was able to link the full track on my very first real life drift event... So the big question here being, is BeamNG.drive realistic enough to learn all of those same things?
