Is Genesis 1 about material origins, or is there something deeper in the ancient Hebrew context? In this insightful interview, I sit down with Dr. John Walton, an expert in Old Testament studies, to explore the language, cultural background, and theological significance of Genesis 1.
We discuss the meaning of "create" in the ancient Near Eastern context, the distinction between functional and material origins in Genesis, and how ancient Israel would have understood the creation account. If you have ever wondered how to read Genesis 1 faithfully while engaging with scholarly insights, this conversation is for you.

- WHAT IS PRETERISM? Preterism is a term that simply means "past in fulfillment." When a majority of Christians today read Bible prophecy (specifically in the New Testament) they immediately assume it is still in our future. We call that "futurism." I believe the Bible is clear that the prophecies would come to pass in a "soon", "at hand", and "quickly" manner. This would place the events in the future of the original audience, but in mine and your past. Thus the term preterism. My goal is to help explore the scriptures and be faithful to the text.
