Pokémon Emerald version is the LEAST changed "third game" so far... but it has the Battle Frontier. Mothy covers the differences between Ruby/Sapphire versions and Pokémon Emerald in a full playthrough and retrospective, playing Emerald Version "As Intended."
Pokémon Emerald version came out in May 2005 as a rerelease/tweak of Ruby and Sapphire which came out in March 2003. But for 26 months of development, the postgame Battle Frontier and some shuffled gym leader pokemon are about all it has to show us. But hey more double battles :3
