The 2025 K2 Alchemist – Matty Cox Board Review #4 Board Overview: The Alchemist is basically K2’s Ferrari of their 2025 line-up. It’s a stiff, directional big mountain weapon, packed with all the latest tech from K2’s snowboard design crew. This one’s geared towards high-level intermediate to advanced riders. My Thoughts: The Alchemist is hands down one of the wildest boards I’ve ever ridden. But honestly, it’s let down by the waist width. Unless you’ve got a US size 8 boot or smaller, you’ll struggle to centre your bindings without getting toe or heel drag. Because of that, I would warn people to be cautious when buying this board. Extra info for my opinion: I understand there is a 159W that probably would've been a better fit for me. But honestly, I still think even the wide boards in the Alchemist range are a bit too narrow. In my opinion, Wide boards should really be aimed at riders with bigger feet, like US 11.5 / Euro 45 and up (with a board waist width of 270mm and above), not someone like me rocking a US 10 / Euro 43 boot size.
