This video goes over a few days leading up to the kids moving their furniture in, and making the place a little more livable. But safety is paramount. The previous home owner did a bunch of DIY, and most was not that good, and the rest of the electrical fixtures are original to the house.
Many were painted over, broken, or just didn't work. SO I set out to inspect and replace every electrical outlet and switch in the house, as well as move a few for convenience, and to add lights and outlets to areas that didn't have them.
I found a couple of things that were a little odd, but nothing a homeowner like myself could correct with a little guidance and knowledge! But what REALLY made this job a breeze was the Decora EDGE electrical devices from @leviton I picked them up at my local @HomeDepot . Two many DIYers cant be bothered to wrap the screws or used a higher quality back-wire device, they just used the back stab holes, this is not the best method, and leads to electrical failures, and potential fires. The Decora Edge, has the ease of the back stab, with the safety and security of a back wired device.
Remember, if you are not comfortable working with electricity, find someone who is, or higher a licensed professional! And remember, ALWAYS turn off the breakers!
