Patmos is a small island located in the Dodecanese archipelago in the southeastern Aegean Sea and is known for its spiritual significance in association with the Bible book of Revelation. The cave of the Apocalypse is believed to be the place where the Apostle John received his divine revelations, which led to the writing of the book in Patmos. The Chora of Patmos is a charming and picturesque town built on a hill overlooking the Aegean Sea and the Port town of Skala below. Perched on a hill above Chora is the Monastery of St. John the Theologian. It is a prominent landmark on Patmos which was founded in the 11th Century. Patmos is also known for its natural beauty with many stunning beaches with crystal clear waters and rugged coastlines. After exploring the Island for a couple of days we continue our island hoping adventure to Samos via the islands of Ikaria known as a blue zone and then the islands of Fournoi & Thimena. Samos is the 9th largest island in Greece and is known for its natural beauty and lush green mountains and an array of beautiful beaches. We arrive in the Port town of Pythagoreio which is regarded as the most beautiful village on the island. The is so much to explore through the islands of the Dodecanese we wish we had more time than a week!
