Join us in this video as we document what happens when we hear the dreaded words 'flights cancelled' on one of the busiest travel days of the year, the Scillonian III is fully booked and 100's of people are left stranded overnight on an island that has a limited number of accommodations. We knew the Isles of Scilly were susceptible to fog and that our travel plans could be interrupted due to this, but events that unfolded on the day we were due to leave far surpassed any mental preparation I'd done through research for the trip. Ultimately, the people who live and work on the Isles of Scilly are some of the loveliest people we've come across and we were looked after every step of the way. But due to the sheer volume of those affected, a laid back attitude and a good sense of adventure were needed. I'm great with one of those and terrible with another. I'll let you guess which is which.
