Married filmmakers Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen share their personal caregiving story in the documentary film Taking Care. Lauren's mother, Adele, was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s at the age of 52. After witnessing the toll the disease took on her mother and family, Lauren was inspired to produce the film to raise awareness and help others affected by Alzheimer’s. In 2012, the couple co-founded the nonprofit organization Hilarity for Charity to support families impacted by Alzheimer’s, engage the next generation of advocates, and become a leader in brain health research and education. The organization has grown significantly, hosting comedy shows and events to raise funds and awareness.
