These Italian stuffed artichokes make for the perfect New Year's appetizer! They're stuffed with a herbed Parmigiano Reggiano breadcrumb mixture and served with a delicious lemony white wine sauce. Cooking with fresh artichokes might seem intimidating, but they're easier to make than you would think and a true crowd-pleaser!

INGREDIENTS:
4 large fresh artichokes
The breadcrumb stuffing
1 cup homemade breadcrumbs, or panko breadcrumbs
2/3 cup Parmigiano Reggiano
2 Tablespoons chopped fresh basil
2 Tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1/2 lemon, juiced
4 garlic cloves, minced or pressed
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
The sauce
3 minced garlic cloves
2/3 cup dry white wine (I used pinot grigio)
1 cup chicken broth
2 Tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
1/2 lemon, juiced
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 Tablespoons butter
