Annual Europe trip to Italy in 2023. Day trips to Positano, Capri, and then making our way back to Rome to head home.
Day 6: A taxi picked us up to take us to the port to board the ferry that takes us to Positano for the day. We laid on the beach and swam before exploring the beautiful city. We finished the experience with another pizza and beer before boarding the ferry with a glass of wine. We couldn’t pass up lemoncello slushies on the ferry. We ended the evening with more wine and exploring Sorrento at night.
day 7: We booked a private boat tour to the island of Capri on this day. Before heading to the island, we stopped the baths of Queen Giovanni. A beautiful small cove with sandy bottoms and perfect swimming area. After the quick stop, we made our way to the island where we passed through the Faraglioni Rocks. We made our way to the top of the island to explore for a couple of hours. We walked through the Gardens of Augustus and stopped for gelato before having a quick bite of pasta with some wine. Once back on board the boat, we continued around the island to see the Green Grotto, a heart shaped rock, and the line for the Blue Grotto. After freshening up at our hotel, we enjoyed our final meal in Sorrento and a couple of drinks to cap off the night.
Day 8: Another train was booked from Sorrento back to Rome. Our bags were dropped off before we explored Rome one last evening. Making our way to the statue of Marcus Aurelius was the highlight of the evening. Our last meal was another meal of pizza and red wine with live music playing next to us.
Day 9: Another roof top breakfast started the day before catching our flight back to Detroit from Rome, with a layover in Montreal.
