As Monster Energy Supercross heads into Round 6, we also head inside Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan to get away from some frigid conditions. This year will mark the 57th time Monster Energy Supercross has raced in the Detroit area going back to the old days when we’d go to the Pontiac Silverdome every year. Ford Field first hosted Supercross in 2006 when James Stewart and Josh Grant claimed the wins nearly two decades ago.

While the excitement in visiting Detroit again is high for local fans, the paddock feels beleaguered this week following a slew of news regarding injuries. Firstly, Eli Tomac is done for Supercross in 2025 after it was revealed he had a fractured fibula from his foot dab in qualifying last week that he actually raced on the entire night! Tomac had surgery in Colorado today and is looking to get back to racing by Pro Motocross.

A week on from losing Jett Lawrence for the series, his brother and Honda HRC Progressive teammate Hunter Lawrence is also done for the season. Lawrence crashed in his heat race in Tampa and sustained a partially torn labrum and multiple cracks to his humerus. The labrum required surgery, and Hunter will likely not return for Supercross in 2025.

After finishing second at the 250 East opener in Tampa, Daxton Bennick was hoping to ride his best career result into this weekend. However, Bennick crashed testing at the GOAT Farm this week and sustained a concussion. No timetable on his return has been made at this time, but he is out for Detroit.

And on top of all of that, Nate Thrasher announced this morning that he has a broken finger from an incident out of his control testing this week as well. He will try to race this weekend and tough it out.

All the bad news aside, we will go racing for a DAY race tomorrow in Detroit starting at 3pm Eastern/12pm Pacific, so check your local listings! Let’s talk to some riders from press day and see how some guys are feeling ahead of round 6.
