This beautiful sonata has settled strongly in the canon of horn works performed today.
It was premiered in the Ghent Conservatory 'Miry' hall in 1942 by the Ghent Royal Conservatory horn teacher Maurice Van Bocxstaele (1897-1974). This recording was made in april 2021 in this same hall, played from the original manuscript from the Conservatory library collection(B-Gc II58789).
