As people of God, He transforms our hearts from the moment we accepted Him in our lives. We should not show compassion just out of mere obligation or the human desire to please others and feel good about ourselves. We are not real Christians when we only show compassion to others because of this. What we must have are changed hearts and mindsets, both of which should be aligned with God and His teachings.
