Hey folks, Chris TEA here. Today I want to share with you an awesome experience and one of my favorite events for this year. Japanese horseback archery (Yabusame 流鏑馬) in Soo City, Kagoshima, Japan.Three young girls chosen from fifth to ninth grade to participate in this year's horseback archery.
Every year on November 3rd, horseback archery is held at Sumiyoshi Shrine in Soo City, Kagoshima Prefecture. The ceremony is held to pray for safety of the nation and a good harvest year. Yabusame is unique here in Soo City because the archers do three runs shooting a total of nine targets! Other yabusame events in Kagoshima has the archers only do one run and three targets.
I had a great time attending my first horseback archery event, and I was inspired to paint a picture that I hope you can see in the video! Please watch the video and enjoy the event! I would appreciate it if you like the video and subscribe to my self-taught journey to art while exploring different cultures and places!
