Beginner Exercises in Riff Playing – to practice and improve your reading, rhythm, time, and groove. part 1 These are jazz swing style comping drills. 6 drills of rhythmic figures with walking bass and drums backup.(backing track avaialble on YouTube) Basic counting of rhythms is covered and use of swing 8ths. 8th notes only - 16th notes are not figured in this video.
