Video Not Working? Fix It Now

For many, the word "astronaut" likely conjures the iconic images of Bruce McCandless floating away into space with his armchair-like jetpack. Despite how deeply embedded this device, the Manned Maneuvering Unit (MMU), is in astronaut imagery, its operable use is only a tiny chapter of spaceflight history.

In this video, I cover a short history of astronaut propulsion devices and untethered spacewalks, beginning in the 1960s to the MMU missions and the legacy of the MMU. I have more spaceflight history and space technology videos planned, so please subscribe!
