In this video I show you how I made a jewelry box for Valentine's Day. It all started with a piece of wood that I discovered a few months ago when I re-sawed a piece of walnut. When I bookmatched the pieces, it resembled the face of an owl. It was destined to be a really nice top for a jewelry box. If you run into difficulty with the brass screws and shear off a head like I did, you can use a screw extractor like this one that is designed for very small screws. http://amzn.to/2jNl2Ak You can watch my video on how to extract a broken screw here: https://youtu.be/IJKHBebKOlQ Some of the things I used in this build include: INCRA I-BOX Jig: https://amzn.to/2LiINyG Freud SD508 Super Dado Set: https://amzn.to/2ICoyhJ INCRA 1000SE Miter Gauge: https://amzn.to/2rYRR3G Titebond III wood glue: https://amzn.to/2IV6MFM SuperMax Drum Sander: https://amzn.to/2IV3xOL Magswitch Featherboard: https://amzn.to/2Lk34nv Freud 1/4" spiral upcut router bit: https://amzn.to/2s18ko1 Freud 1/4" roundover bit: https://amzn.to/2s043QM Brusso small box hinges: https://amzn.to/2x0WCPl Zinsser SealCoat dewaxed shellac: https://amzn.to/2kh8qDE Minwax aerosol lacquer (satin): https://amzn.to/2IAyzMt Gimlet set: https://amzn.to/40DaFEn 90 degree clamping squares: https://amzn.to/2BbxvLI Thank you for subscribing to my channel! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=UCdvdyThR32u0r0U49ZFD6Hg And be sure to check out my website at http://www.woodumakeit.com ! email: [email protected] Instagram: http://instagram.com/woodumakeit Facebook: http://facebook.com/reallywoodumakeit Twitter: https://twitter.com/WoodUMakeit Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/woodumakeit
