After scouring TaoBao, I came across this 12 Bay server case and couldn’t resist after reading an in-depth review from Byte Pursuits. So, I took the plunge, and I’m excited to share my thoughts!
This beast of a case packs some serious features: a 12G SAS Backplane, space for a full-sized ATX motherboard and power supply, plus 12 front bays with room for 4 additional 2.5" drives inside. All this for just under $170 USD (1199 CNY). I used Superbuy to handle shipping, which added about $230 USD to get it all the way to Chicago.
Currently, my NAS is housed in the sleek Jonsbo N3. I had been eyeing the Jonsbo N5, but this 12 Bay case was too good a deal to pass up, especially with plans to go rack-mounted soon.
Over the next few days, I’ll be transferring my drives from the Jonsbo N3 and building out a fresh Unraid setup in this new case. I’ll post the full build video once it’s done, so hit that subscribe button and stay tuned for the next update!
