Joe Lynn Turner joined Ritchie Blackmore to front Rainbow in the early 80s. Following his 3 album stint with the group, Joe faced a number of options next... Foreigner, Bad Company and Deep Purple! In this short clip, Joe talks about those days, from singing on jingles, trying out with Mick Jones in Foreigner, being asked to join Bad Company and then receiving the call to hook up with his favourite group of his youth - Deep Purple! But not just any iteration of the band, he was lead singer alongside Ritchie Blackmore, John Lord, Roger Glover and Ian Paice! Here Joe talks about that first session with them, his thoughts on the album he recorded 'Slaves and Masters' and how important the other members of Purple felt he was at that time.
